During the summer months, the Ultimate Travel Camp pitches his luxury tents on 2 locations in Ladakh: at the foot of the Thiksey Monastery near Leh, and in the amazing valley of Nubra.
Both camps offer a unique luxury glamping experience. Guests can acces one of the most remote and unspoilt regions in India in style, by enjoying this concept of luxury private tents with all modern comfort.
During the day you can explore Ladakh on carefully selected and tailormade excursions to monasteries, high passes, rural villages and bustling markets. At night you return to your royal retreat for excellent meals and ultimate relaxing
Both Chamba Camps can be combined to make a full Ladakh Experience Tour, but we can also include a couple of nights in one of the Chamba Camps during a longer tour in Ladakh and Zanskar.
Chamba Camp Thiksey
With amazing views on the impressive monastery of Thiksey, this Chamba Camp is the most authentic and luxury accommodation, one can find in the Indus-valley. Only half an hour drive from Leh Airport, it is a perfect place to start or end your Ladakh holiday.
It is a good base for exploring the major Buddhist monasteries in the Indus-valley like Hemis and Thiksey and to visit Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Exciting walks to local villages, rafting on the Indus river, cycling excursions, a meeting with local monks or attending a prayer ceremony, archery games,... will make sure your stay in Chamba Camp Thiksey will be a rewarding Ladakh experience.
Chamba Camp Thiksey has 14 air-conditioned tents, all overlooking the nearby Thiksey Monastery. All tents have ensuite bathrooms with hot showers, luxury linens, colonial furniture and private terraces to spent a lazy afternoon of to watch the stars in the evening. A personal valet will take care of all your wishes during your stay. Meals are served in a main dining tent, but there are also options for private diners in idyllic spots nearby.
Chamba Camp Diskit
To reach Chamba Camp Diskit, one has the cross the Khardung La (5620m), the highest motorable mountainpass in the world. This adventurous ride offers you some of the nicest scenery in Ladakh. On the other side of Khardung La lies the fertile valley of Nubra, dotted with apricat orchards and green fields. This wide valley is formed by 2 large rivers (Shyok and Nubra). Near the village of Diskit, Chamba Camps operates its second property in Ladakh.
The Camp is constructed in the same style as its sister property in Thiksey, and has 12 luxury tents for an ultimate glamping experience. As it is quite a long drive to get there, most guests stay at least 2 nights in Chamba Camp Diskit. Your days are filled with visits to the monasteries of Diskit and Samthaling, with an exhilarating ride on Bactrian camels in the sanddunes of Hunder, with light hikes to rural villages and with enjoying the astounding mountain views from your private terrace.

Both camps are operational from Mid May to Mid October. We can include the Camps in any itinerary in Ladakh and Zanskar. A lot of our travellers also add a couple of nights in Chamba Camp Thiksey after a trek through the mountains.
