    Pavilions Himalayas: A Villa Retreat

With only 15 Villa's the Pavilions Himalayas is one of our favourite spots in Pokhara. Rajiv and his team welcome you in a green valley, away from the busy Lakeside area. They offer the perfect mix between a tranquil retreat and a base for some exploration of the surrounding country side.

Pavilions Himalayas is an eco-sensitive retreat with solar panels for electricity, biogass for cooking and active water recycling, An onsite organic farm produces most of the ingredients for the healthy food that is served in the intimate Club House.

The whole concept of Pavilions Himalayas was developped by Douglas, a Scottish NGO-worker, who has been living in Nepal for decades. He wanted to involve the local communities in his plans and works closely together with them, employing and training them as staff. The farming land of the local villagers runs straight through the resort premises which gives good opportunities to interact with the cheerful locals.

The 15 villa's are spread out around a central clubhouse. They are build according to local principles with no airconditioning, but with thick walls that keep it warm in winters and cool in summers. They are decorated in natural colors and have all modern amenities. The large private terraces have great views on the mountains and on the countryside. Small details like fresh milk from the farm delivered at your doorstep in the morning, add that little extra to your stay in Pavilions Himalayas.

In the surroundings lots of activities are possbile like dayhikes, visits to local villages or to a Buddhist monastery and of course the whole range of outdoor-activities in Pokhara Town. A refreshing dip in the infinity pool or a massage in the small treatment center, can be a good option to spent an afternoon, before having pre-dinner drinks in the wellstocked bar.

    Pavilions Lake View: Ultimate Glamping

A recent addition is Pavilions Lake View. This tented camp is situated on the shores of the Fewa Lake, but far away from the bustling Lakeside. It takes about half an hour to reach this glamping camp by paddle boat or a walk from 3-4 hours from Pavilions Himalayas.

8 luxury tented eco-villas are perched on wooden terraces on a slope overlooking the Lake. These tented villas offer extreme privace in the middle of the nature. Every morning you wake up with the sounds of the birds and in the evening you can enjoy the silence of the surrounding forests.  A inhouse naturalist takes you on walks for birdwatching or for exploring local villages. You are close to the second city of Nepal, but when entering these villages it will stil feel like a leap back in time.

The central Clubhouse is the place where guests gather in the evening for delicious meals and drinks.

Both properties have their own identity and atmosphere, but they share a common philosophy. They can be easily combined by staying a couple of nights in both of them.
